missing rib
so maybe i scored the highest amount of points on the sunday school test for the most egalitarian in feelings for gender roles, aka submission. okay, so maybe i was a solid 20 points higher than the class average. the questions were dumb.
o to be an outlier...
my eyes filled with tears as i listened to the sunday school teacher, on whom i have a slight and calculated crush, talk about paul's letters to the ephesians pointing at the authority and order of relationships, God to us, and us to each other.
the thing is, i don't trust a man enough to submit to him. i can't believe that there is one out there with such a poignant, obediant, and loving relationship with Christ that i could follow him.
with what strength of humility one must posess to endure this walk, to stare in the face of raw dreams, to admit such bareness and need in the midst of such want!

have you ever watched 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding'?
One of my favorite lines is the one the mom delivers to the daughter- ahem, loose quotation:
"The husband may be the head of the family, but the woman, she is the neck; and she can turn the head whatever way she wants."
Now that's submission at it's finest!
spoken like a true southern bell, sal.
